It all started back in October 2004.  Hybrid Audio Technologies was founded from a conversation held in a coffee shop in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, as a few close friends sat around the dinner table one night after competing at, and winning the Expert Ultimate division at the International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA®) World Finals.  We all shared our collective disenchantment with the direction that the current high-end car audio speaker manufacturers were going with their products.  At one point, the question was posed "why don't you just build the ultimate car audio speaker line and start your own company?"  What started out as a whim remark has melded into the most exciting new line of car audio loudspeakers since 1989.  Welcome to a new generation of in-car audio!

Hybrid Audio Technologies, LLC was officially founded in July 2005 under the leadership of managing director and founder Scott Buwalda and managing member Brett Nelker.  In the few months that followed, industry visionaries William Pleasant, Mark Stringer, and John Marsh were incorporated into the management structure of the company, and provided the foundation as we moved forward.  During the eighteen months that followed, we saw a proliferation of great talent added to Team Hybrids, the official competition team of Hybrid Audio Technologies (the main function of the Team is to represent Hybrid Audio in the competition lanes, and to test our products under the most rigorous conditions, ensuring that our products are the very best they can be).

The goal of the Hybrid Audio is to develop the world's finest car audio loudspeakers.  How do you know how to build the world's best speakers?  It's simple.  It is recognized throughout the industry that the best products available for purchase have been tested in organized competition.  Just like the best race engines have been developed from years of track testing, the best car audio speakers are developed from years of rigorous development in the organized sound-off competition lanes.  We know the speaker design philosophies that work the best in the car audio environment.

This experience, and the company's vision, was first proven at the 2005 IASCA^® World Finals, where the first two Hybrid Audio Technologies-equipped competition vehicles went on to win World Championship honors in their respective classes, one of which had the highest sound quality score of the Finals event.  These results were backed up in the 2006 season with National and World Championship victories and placements in the European Mobile Multimedia Association (EMMA^®), Mobile Autosound Competition Association (MECA^®), United States Autosound Competition International (USACi^®), and of course IASCA^®.  In 2007, for the third year in a row, Team Hybrids competitors outright dominated the competition, winning both classes competed in at the EMMA-UK Championships, both classes competed in at the IASCA - UK Championships, and winning five of the available nine World Championships at the IASCA World Finals. 

Hybrid Audio-equipped vehicles won more IASCA^® World Championships in 2007 than all other front-stage speaker manufacturers combined.

Almost all of our competitors won their respective championships using only Hybrid Audio products with no other competing manufacturers represented in their competition systems.  What takes years for some manufacturers to achieve, if ever at all, we were able to achieve after only being officially organized for less than three months, and we have backed up our results for two consecutive years, winning more and more large trophies each year as championship-seeking competitors are drawn to our Team to use the Hybrid Audio product.  Hybrid Audio Technologies is world championship caliber car audio!
