What makes us different makes us fundamentally better.

It all started back in October 2004.  Hybrid Audio Technologies was conceived from a conversation held in a coffee shop in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, as a few close friends sat around the dinner table one night after competing at, and winning the Expert Ultimate division at the International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA^®) World Finals.  We all shared our collective disenchantment with the direction that the current high-end car audio speaker manufacturers were going with their products.  At one point, the question was posed "why don't you just build the ultimate car audio speaker line and start your own company?"  What started out as a whim remark has melded into the most exciting new line of car audio loudspeakers ever!  Welcome to a new generation of in-car audio!

Hybrid Audio Technologies, Inc. was officially registered as a State of Georgia USA Limited Liability Company in July 2005 under the leadership of managing director and founder Scott Buwalda.  In the few months that followed, industry visionaries William Pleasant, Mark Stringer, and John Marsh, among other notable industry veterans, were incorporated into the management team of the company, and provided the foundation as we moved forward.  During the months that followed, we saw a proliferation of great talent added to Team Hybrids, the official car audio competition team of Hybrid Audio Technologies.  And now, we are a vibrant, young company rooted in the philosophy that building an exceptional product is secondary only to good old-fashioned customer service and pre- and post-purchase support. 

The goal of Hybrid Audio Technologies

is to develop the world's finest car audio loudspeakers.

We spend an inordinate amount of time listening to, testing, and refining  our speakers and speaker systems in a variety of configurations and settings to ensure that the Hybrid Audio Technologies product performs well beyond its price range, and significantly exceeds the performance of our competitor's products.

One way we test our speakers is in the rigorous real-world test-bed of sanctioned car audio sound quality competitions around the globe; it is recognized that the best products available for purchase have been tested in organized competition.  Just like the best race engines have been developed from years of track testing, the best car audio speakers are developed from years of rigorous development in sanctioned sound quality competition.

Our first opportunity to evaluate and "prove" our designs was at the 2005 IASCA^® World Finals, where the first two Hybrid Audio Technologies-equipped vehicles competed with prototype speakers.  Both vehicles went on to win World Championship honors in their respective classes, one of which had the highest sound quality score of that Championship event.  These results have been backed up every year since; the wins and placements have expanded to multiple organizations, and in various parts of the world.  In fact, in  March 2010, for the fifth year in a row, competitors using Hybrid Audio product outright dominated the competition at the IASCA North American Championships, "one-two" sweeping three of the classes (Rookie, Professional, and Professional Ultimate), and winning the North America's most difficult class (Expert Ultimate) by the highest score ever recorded in IASCA's 21-year history. 

Hybrid Audio-equipped vehicles have won more IASCA^® North American Championships and IASCA^® World Championships since 2006 than all other front-stage speaker manufacturers combined.

What takes years for some manufacturers to achieve, if ever at all, we were able to achieve after only being officially organized for less than three months, and we have backed up our results for five consecutive years, winning more and more large trophies each year as championship-seeking competitors are drawn to use the Hybrid Audio product.  Hybrid Audio Technologies is world championship caliber car audio!

Championships are great.  But what was most important to us was collecting, dissecting, and evaluating feedback from the competitors that use our products, and using this data to refine our products.  We have tested different speakers and speaker systems in our competition cars to the point of obsessive compulsion, and now we proudly have four complete product lines to offer our customers.  You too can have the world-best and championship-proven speaker systems in your car!
